I haven't seen EdithHead, Anna or Elise here in a minute. JustAlice, aradpuma and dianediane don't post nearly often enough. Neta and Coselmed, I know are, special appearances, but still.SelinaKyle came and went like an apparition.LadyDay - MIA.I still want to beleive FreakyTracy is real and will suddenly start posting the best mixes this side of the cathouse.Where is everyone? Did I forget someone?

    just a couple weeks back, i posted an open letter from my friend and a busy dj who had a major record damaging flood. she told me she got some real creepy emails from people who read the letter on soulstrut that freaked her out (in a bad way). she had wanted to post a thankyou for the thoughtful replies that had been posted, but instead she was like fuck it, i dont want to have anything to do with that site.

    might have been lurkers, but still...not a good look. i didnt ask for details.

    I missed the letter the first time and just read it. Damn. My heart goes out to her and I am happy for her that some of it was spared.

    That makes me feel like an idiot for not moving on insuring my records. Time to stop thinking about it and start talking to some companies. It's the cataloguing that scares the hell out of me. Maybe I can hire some teenagers to do it over the summer...Anyway, I'm sorry a bad situation was made worse for her because of some shitbirds who don't know how to behave - from the Board or not.

    bassie, that's a good call on the summer hire's. lol

    also, wouldn't your records be covered under your house/rental insurance? i remember having to calculate all mine up to give to the insurance company, and they added that dollar amount to everything else i own in my place.

    I had my schitt insured for 100 grand recently (Records, comic books, autographs). That post about the flood made me happy I did.

    From what I understand, for decent coverage, you have to get additonal insurance for special contents (not correct terminology!). I have a feeling thousands of records, some irreplaceable, are not going to be properly accounted for by just regular insurance. Basically, I got to get my ass in gear and find out what's what.

    It doesn't really matter which person I am talking about, but basically dudes need to not use the PM as their bootleg Match.com. Go outside. There are real life women everywhere. I doubt any of the women on this board are signing up with "maybe I'll meet a nice guy" in the back of their mind.

    For all you know, that "girl" you're hollering at could be some fat, sweaty record hobbit locked up in his bedroom at mom's house.

    I agree, except that it's not between men and women here - 99% of the time, it's just a sausage party.

    I couldn't care less about unattainable/pron star threads, I just don't read them is all. But there is a lot of weak shit, running the gamut from cringe-worthy to creepy to misogyny, that pops up and runs through certain posts.
