    Hey,

"Come Live with Me, Angel"-Marvin Gaye. I've loved this song since I was 7 years old (still have my original "I Want You" LP from 1976-related). The runner-up from that time period would probably be: "Earth, Wind, & Fire"-Earth, Wind, and Fire (off the "Spirit" LP). 1976 was a great music year (despite what some folks say), and that joint was so big, majestic, melodic, and soulful. Mo' White did his thang as did the background vocalists. Near musical perfection!!!

    Peace,

Maybe the most impossible song to NOT sing along with of all-time.

I love Hey Joe in all its forms (Wilson Pickett's version is a current favourite) but today I might have to go with Jimi's version of All Along the Watchtower.

    kinky reggae - bob marley

  • The most important, awe inspiring piece of music I have ever heard is the John Coltrane Quartet doing "Spiritual," at the Village Vanguard in 1961.

But, FAVORITE is an important distinction. And, for that, I choose either "I Was Made to Love Her," by Stevie Wonder.

There are a million in the #2 spot. But, for a combination of musical prowess and sentimental importance, ain't nothing topping Stevie.

  • If I can only pick one, then "Someday We'll All Be Free" by Donny Hathaway.

OH SHIT! This was my runner up. But if we really have to pick only one, , I have to give the edge to "Lush Life" by Strayhorn.

  • Howard Tate - Get It While You Can

    Chuck Edwards - Downtown Soulville

Eldridge Holmes - A Love Problem

    Them - Gloria

    Diamond Joe - Fair Play

runners up(really close, practically tied with my top choice)
    Flirtations "Nothing But a Heartache"
13th Floor Elevators "Youre gonna Miss Me"
