does anyone else even care about Thad Jones early Blue notes? I was totally floored by this LP when I bought it but I never hear anyone else mention him outside of a GOMLW break discussion
I was going to say The Prisoner... Herbie - Speak Like A Child Miles - 1964: The Complete Concert Miles - Live @ The Blackhawk Joey Calderazzo - The Traveler Chick Corea Akoustic Band - Live in Tokyo (the one with Vinnie depping for Weckl)
Damn near his entire catalog up until like '73 is essential, in my opinion. Him and Mingus are my favorite artists of all time.
I ain't mad at that. I like how you didn't say "jazz" artists. I feel the same way. Although I would have to say Horace Silver gets included in this group as well.
Comments
Bill Evans, Explorations
Grant Green, Live at the Lighthouse
Miles Davis, In a Silent Way
Thelonios Monk, Monk's Dream
Art Blakey, Moanin'
All these records really stay with me.
I've seen this many times and passed it up having bad weather report flashbacks, whats the sound on this one like?

It sounds nothing like a weather report LP.
