David Banner & Lil Flip - Like a Pimp
    Lil Flip - Game Over
    Mike Jones - Back Then
Ying Yang Twinz - Salt Shaker
    Juvenile - In My Life

These songs were bigger/more classic than Go Getta, Drop It Like Its Hot, Throw Some D's, etc.?

To do this right, we'd have to create tiers that distinguish between a:

Ludacris & Mystikal - Move Bitch

    and a:

    Too $hort - Burn Rubber

One's played during every other rap radio station's traffic report and the other is just too damned good not to mention despite not blowing up as big as it should have.

Yeah, you got me on Drop It Like It's Hot...when you posted it the first time it didn't register to me as the Snoop song...for some reason I was thinking Nelly or something.

I cosigned your previous mention of Throw Some D's On It.

But Go Getta is complete garbage.

All that being said...yes, those songs I listed in the above quote are likeley much, much more popular than you realize...especially Like a PImp and In My Life.

Sorry, missed Throw Some D's. Salt Shaker more nationally recognized than Go Getta? No way. Regional hits, son, regional hits. Haha. Nah I like all those tracks though. I gotta disagree on Go Getta. That song was hot. And definitely bigger nationally than all the songs you listed, possibly excluding Like A Pimp.

how many people posting here are posting songs they both like AND think qualify as classics, and how many are just posting songs they think 'qualify'? What i mean is like ... some posts look sort of like they might as well just be radio playlists for the '03 era. are folks really riding for "Play" by Banner as a good track? i know it burned up the charts but i figured the DISCERNING HEADS would find it to be gimmicky substandard mr. collipark material.

Slow Jamz (Collipark Remix) > Play

Agreed; that record is awful. "Wait" was genius, though.

So what are the official song entries for Eminem? Wasn't he like the best selling rapper in the history of the universe?

Well "classic" is not supposed to be about personnal taste, but about longevity. If you play "Play" (no pun intended) today you get the same response that you did when it came out.

And, yeah, I hate some of the songs on that list.

nah i know that lots of shit i dont like will have longevity w/ other people ... just like lots of songs i think are good and should be classics will be forgotten. i just think its more interesting to hear what people like and have it represent their taste in some way, rather than a list of billboard rap hits

Well, I don't think Crime Mob is a classic anywhere except in Archaic's home, but he's the only authority in this thread, so...
