I've been after that Hein Huysmans for a while and finally managed to score one for cheap. Great jazzfunk vibes from Belgium.

Both library lp's are double lp's on Command records. The Dick Hyman sucks, the other has its moments.

It's by the Tropical Islanders on the Wirl label and has one cool funky cut "African Odyssey"

i actually found two nice 45s at the flea market yesterday:

Fields David - You Make Me Feel/See What Love Will Do (Winning Star) : two local soul ballads prod by the Hartfield Bros from 86.

RayMar - I Erotic (Music Inc of Oregon): nice late 80s soul ballad from portland.

  • worked a night shift saturday night then went straight to a record fair sunday morn..... buu fell off my fucking bike on the way there. made up for it with some nice finds though:

and im dead chuffed with this one ---- THE MILLENIUM - "prelude"

    also got:

    FRANK ZAPPA - "apostrophe"
    DENNIS COFFEY - "electric coffey"
    BEATLES - "sgt pepper"
EDWIN STARR - "war & peace"
    GOLDEN EARRING - "moontan"

  • Mary Lou Williams- Praise the Lord (Avant-Garde)
Frank Cunimundo Trio- Intro'ing Lynn Marino
    Otis Redding- Soul Album
    Chris Capizzi- New Day
    etc.

  • ..just a quick stop a local spots before work

What is the deal with Timmy Thomas? Organ crooning with that old organ-rhythm-machine backing. Who is this dude?

Damn shitzr! You came through my city and didn't even holler! Ah well. Where did you end up digging at? What's up with those Major Production Music joints? Are they any good? b/w where did you find them?

edit: I deleted most of my post because I didn't notice that some of that stuff was not from CO.

  • some big latin come ups... all $1 each except the Tiger Boogaloo. Los Dementes is reeediculous. I guess this usage of the term "Salsa" on the cover predates (1967) it's popularity in NYC. Includes descarga BOMB. Tony Pabon is a nice one too. Pedro Laza Y Pelayeros is old school fuentes cumbia jazziness.

more dollar finds, except the dennis brown from good records blowout and the willie mitchell. If anyone knows any Russian (i think that's what it is?) please give info on the green and black joint. There's a couple nice open drum breaks, some bass grooves, and some excellent slightly psych-y ballads. Primetime is a mustache soul goldmine and the bottom right corner is a very clean Wilson Simonal Alegria Vol. 1 but in a blank white sleeve

and a few 45s for good measure. Orlando Julius & His Modern Aces from late 60's is real nice. big open drums on one of the tracks for like 8 bars.
