So after reading the post on the latest waxpoetics, I thought what would folks on this board want to see/read about??? For Me they need to do best spots to eat when diggin in your favorite town, somthing not further than 5 blocks I'm sayin...orWaxpoetics interviews the folks at vestex and numark and ask the question, "WHY CAN'T YOU MAKE A BETTER MORE COMPACT PORTABLE RECORD PLAYER!!!!!" that kills me why can't they! FARK!Modern Soul/80's soul funk interviews with Cameo, Bill Summers, Slave, Switch etc...Or how about a section on how to make Bootleg records and how to get away with it...????And how about: Record Convention Etiquette do's and dont's, how to avoid getting socked in the face with a coin filled sock! And one of my favorite Record Convention Past times, Playing Jokes on your friends, how to get away with throwing in a barbra strisand, or Firestone Christmas record in your boyz stack of wax and have him payfor it only to find out when he get's home how the frak (Frak: that's OG Starbuck Slang from Battle Star Galactica ), did that get there???

yo for real, record convention etiquette is a MUST. thats definitley one of the biggest downsides of going, its like people running to ps3's after camping out the night before, except its a dealer just opening his table.
and the slide a random/wack record in your homies stack stays kept in practice
right.
especially for how many euro funk/european records are used in today's hip hop.
mad lib? dangermouse? just to name two of thousands basically.
where's the roubaix retrospective?
wax p is a semi submission based mag though, maybe not too many headz are submitting these documents.
This is an area of diggin that has really only blown up over the last few years and I think an informative article covering the basic???s up to some holy grail ish would be an interesting read.
A Curtis Mayfield Tribute feature/issue would be a GREAT look.
Haitian raers.
Co-sign on all of these. Some Modern Soul/80'S funk coverage would be great!

Plaese no.
Very good idea.
Let's talk...
this pretty much happens on the daily
nothin like findin a hot new kids on the block 12" in your stack when you get home
this never gets old though
I would like to see a regular column by james[/b] where he can
write whatever he wants, all things ultimately being record-relatted.
or did this already happen? Im missing a couple issues
Allen Toussaint
Sly Stone
Huey P Meux
piece on Virtue Studios
Frank Cunimondo
Grant Green
Lonnie Smith
Honeydrippers
The Mohawks
Melvin Bliss
I'm with Drewn - if Paul C can get a 20+ page feature, a look at...
- the unique position of Curtom
- Curtis Mayfield productions
- the recording of "Live!"
- the financial drama that was the "short eyes" soundtrack
- record porn of raer Curtis-related stuff
- and a feature called "Cooking with Master Henry Gibson"
...should be possible, no?
Hear hear. Would a fundraiser help Oliver? (yes, im looking at you )
That's true for a lot of giants of soul music, though... almost all of them, actually.
I hear you but Mayfield seems especially glaring (his omission, I mean).
Where's the "Rockist" graemlin?
You denying Curtis his due?
I agree with Faux's point: there's a LOT of books that need to be written.
Word around here is that this situation can be blamed on
the one Marv Heiman[/b], overzealous executor of Curtis
Mayfield's estate.
(At least in terms of doing an authorized project, and being
able to interview family members).
I'm missing the earlier issues, this hasn't been done already has it?
And co-sign on all the prior suggestions, especially the ettiquette article.
