Goddamn! This is not what I was expecting at all. I guess Richmond is closer to Baltimore than I realized. This is so dope--when those horns come in at 53 seconds in, it just goes up another notch. You managed to take a song I've been sick of for years and breathe new life into it. To quote James: So, yeah, props.

oh word? i have only heard those horns on one other track, but i feel where you are coming from. thats why i tried to chop them up so they werent as repetitive. they were the perfect fit though. they are in c major, and the the scenario bassline is in a minor. so it just clicked. i didnt have to pitch anything.

This is a remix of Aaliyah's "If You Girl Only Knew" that I've been fucking around with over the last couple of evenings. It's a little different from the kind of thing that usually gets posted on these threads, and it needs a lot more work doing on it. Nevertheless, I'd welcome any feedback, particularly on the technical side.

what programs are folks using to make these remixes? I've been trying to make it happen with Cool Edit Pro but have trouble matching up tempos and leveling out the sound. I'm still getting familiar with the program though...any tips?

aye Ross. that Collie Buddz track is madness! Here's an alternate version of the same beat. the bassline is not as heavy as the Come Around(?) riddim but still manages to rattle the sound system. peace.
