Pfff. I am so buying those OS chips when they come out! I got ahold of the cardreader that works with the 3000 a while back so SD cards back and forth from the MPC to the computer/MPCEditor ain't no thing. I just can't see Acid or Ableton replacing it, and I was really leaning in that direction. I dunno, I have to fool around with Live more and see.
P.S. Big thanks to you E_Daily fo hipping me to that ATTY, picked one up and perfectly fixed my mic/monitoring problem.
Yup it's a PCD25, but it was named differently. I just bought so many cardreaders off eBay & cpu suppliers I eventually lucked out & got one working and cannibalized the non-working ones to make the perfect reader: took the best small housing, power switch, put in the PCD25, etc. Dunno if it's a secret but I haven't seen it said anywhere: the ones that work with the 3000 have a PMCIA slot (top) and a SmartMedia slot (bottom).
