There's this song by Graham Central Station called "Tell Me What It Is" with a line that refers to playing in a jive-ass band. Based on that, I've been known to use the terms "jive" or "jive ass," off and on.
I'm a fan of most phrases that employ "ass" as a modifier, as in: That's some good-ass pizza.
BOSS. This is an early sixties term for "great" that HAS to make a comeback, and it may as well start with me. "Steve Scipio played some BOSS bass patterns on those Cymande LP's."

________ -ASS goes with almost everythang. Its funny thinking about the grandkids of this generation thinking of something like 'ass' as some funky slang that old people use, hence corny and square
My best friend made me a bet in middle school...or maybe at the beginning of high school that calling someone "young" would be as popular as "son" or something of the sort.
So, my question to all of you is, have you ever heard it used that way?
Be honest, but if I'm wrong, my Living Color cassette tape will soon have a new home.
i love YIKES. my friend uses this when a pretty girl walks by, i think it's hilarious and way more acceptable than "hommina hommina" or whatever jack tripper would say

Actually nevermind, that might dilute the meaning, because if someone takes the care in using that word now you KNOW they mean it.
LOL... like how the Brits say 'brilliant!' so much... when Americans use it, they mean it!
"cool your jets, eddie!"

I feel the same way about brilliant; way overused at least overseas.

My mom used to say that I was lunchin' a whole lot when I was growing up. She also used to call me a turkey, you know short for jive turkey.
