I've gotten a lot of ish the last few days, but I'm at work right now. Anyways off the top I've been liking these.

St John's Green - flick disc (bugged out psych feat. Kim Fowley, damn did Mingering Mike do the front cover for this?!)

Esyxx-priorities (modern private ep outta Seattle, half of this is pretty cool, the other half is kinda lame. I'm not complainin though, found it in a dollar bin)

Beck- e-pro import picture disc 7 inch, cool electro remix on the flip

and a bunch of random local folk/xian stuff

Hit a spot today & found some interesting titles. Best are:

Leon Spencer - Where I'm Coming From
Human Arts Ensemble - Under the Sun

    + some modern soul titles

Most of it will be at my table at the Philly Record Show next weekend.....

A couple of cool things came my way, amongst a lot of garbage.

    UTFO Bite It 12"
    Stanely Cowell ---Brillinat Circles
    Max neuhaus ----Electronics and Percussion
    Richard Tietelbaum ----Time Zones
    and
WildTchoupiTouLas S/T. ---- Didn't know anything about it except I saw that a bunch of the meters played on it. Very cool record.

I'd say finding something Fred Wesley calibre would be for a good weekend for me. I just found that wu-tang sinlge last week as well. Love having the instrumentals.

    SF Out.

Not only is Jesus the son of God, he also has the best Jazz hands.

  • Hey L*****, did you change your mind on "Glass of water"? Perfect afternoon hazy rhodes jazz.

here I am posing in a down low spot AVEC FOLKWAYS. ("music of the manindanao in the philippines" - heavy on the gong, recorded really hot into a battery powered tap recorder!) Shop proprieter is telling a funny story about scalping tickets in NYC circa 1954. Was a great day to drive along the coast, mid 70s and pure blue sky.

Oh and last night I went to see the feminist group guerilla girls speak. I volunteered for a skit, of course it was imasculating. I ended up parading around in a skirt and tiara on in front of a few hundred cute stetson undergrads and feminists with gorilla masks on. Very dope. You know, whatever, I got to chill with THE GUERILLA GIRLS BOYOS.

Went to the Morongo Preserve today with the fam and hit up a thrift store that normally has nothing. Come to find out someone dropped off a huge collection.

All of these were $2. Peace to Rape Deez. I also grabbed a sealed Nard and Rasa (double/trade) and some other misc. things.

Thank you, dave. I will do the same for you (and [many] other strutters) if the occasion to do so arises.

  • These were all $2 this morning at a flea market that shall remain nameless... I had to work all day after I found them so I'm just getting to hear them now. I don't think I can express in words how fortunate I feel to have found these. It definitely balances out all the fruitless combing through garbage that I subject myself to on a regular basis.

I'm pretty sure most of these are vintage pressings, but if anyone can give me some advice on how to tell reissues from OG's on the Jamaican stuff I would be eternally grateful. Believe it or not all the records are in pretty nice shape and play great. That Monomono record is wicked afro-psych-funk.
