  • what would you classify the 1st black heat LP?

    funk/ROCK[/b] (w/jazz overtones), although I don't think it's very good.

(their real "heat" came with their next two elpees, No Time To Burn and Keep On Running)

And that shit sounds like Archie Whitewater to my ears. --jazz-rock?

Black Heat S/T I think is good though. Way beyond Brute Force, although I am more of a fan of NTTB, and NKOTB

where does Baby Huey fit into this mess?

  • where does Baby Huey fit into this mess?

Exactly. Low on the psyche, high on the funk and rock quotient, still soulful.

  • All of the best black psych is on 45, so this list is hard to expand on.

this is what I'd rather be talking about.

I think jazz rock is pretty apt. With vocals.

Whatever the case, I can't stop playing "Disillusioned" this week.

    Private gospel funk psych

How is this? Anybody know? I've seen it on ebay before and it went unbid. Kinda regret not bidding on it now.

B-grade Funkadelic from the early 1980s. It's really only something you'd want to listen to after exhausting everything else you have like it. If it's going unbid, it's certaintly worth $10-20.
