Company Flow was and is garbage. I do not understand the appeal, nor will I ever apparently. That company was built on the backs of Talib and Mos Def. Was Black Star their best seller? If not, something by Pharoah.

That comp. is half good and half garbage. I'll leave it to your own interpretation.

heard elsewhere that Co Flow bought all the rights to their music back from Rawkus, which would prolly explain it.

I think Meaty is right about Co-flow buying the rights back.

I also think youre smoking crack if you think Company flow is what made rawkus what it was. Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Pharoah Monch may beg to differ

Fully agree here on both points - favorite Rawkus product? First 10 to 12 tracks on the Reflection Eternal full length, more for Hi-Tek's beats than Talib's contribution...

  • some of my favorite rawkus joints were the early 12" 's. like mos def's "universal magnetic" / "if you can huh you can hear it" and reflection eternal's "2000 seasons" / "fortified live". classic shit.

    Another one of these?

I don't mean to derail this thread, but that won't be necessary because there's no coal left to feed this train.

  • "get by" was weak in my opinion... kweli's prime was the blackstar album.

Wow crossing out "Flamboyant" is a definite hatter move. Was "Beef" ever released prior to this I always thought it was just some joint they performed on Chappelles Show?

and B-Boy document was and still is dancefloor heat.

Breakers will be breaking if this comes on in a hip-hop club

    Smoking crack? Such strong language...

Co Flow definitely made it possible for Mos and Talib and so on. Not in terms of art or anything, just understand that Co Flow's records bubbled first and in terms of the actual chronology of records Rawkus literally built on Co Flow's success. All those records by L Fudge and Shabaam and shit, I mean the records are crap but the label built in stature with each release. It wasn't like they just showed up and started selling hundreds of thousands of records.

I would say the comp needs Co Flow, also needs "Fortified Live". Best record on the label IMO...

I believe "Oh No" and "Simon Says" were the most successful singles, both in terms of scans and sales. Mos Def LP claimed 500,000 but was less than that in actuality.

I wanna see some Rose Family and Poppa Bear Cool Breeze up in this bitch, word to Black Shawn.

you can throw anything under that instrumental or just rock it by itself and you will get the same reaction

I don't think even the Rawkus collect-'em-all obsessives f**ked with that record.
