There's this one Raeletts jam that seriously rocks too, I forgot the name offhand but the point of the song is telling a woman to clean up her act.

Yea, if my Lp's wern't all packed I'd tell you. I got a Raylettes LP a few months ago and was really suprised at how they got down.

A bit lite and not heavy but the
Pointer Sisters "Dont it Drive you crazy," is one of my faves. At 83 bpms, its great for those loungey 10:30 slots.

I'm jus saying, although I've never tried to play this when people want to dance, i'm not so sure it would work. In college when people where stoned and doing mushrooms at parties, I played this anytime.

I just put funk soul in the title cause it seemed go well with the 'four fave female sureshots' < I should have just left it at that, in retrospect.

The forum should be open to anything female really, be it jazz, soul, funk..... as long as its one of your four faves..... feck it.

    foxy: trouble

    Co-sign, and slept on.

    Millie Jackson - The Rap

major co-sign, that song is the best example I have ever heard of...it's hard to describe, but a real slow groove that is so tight, it feels like it's going to explode, you can't help but move even though it's sooo slooow.
And "J-One" kills me every time.

    recent ones I've been feelin':

    Honey Cone-when will it end
    Vicki Anderson-Super Good
    Betty Adams-Make It Real

..and that Sisters Love version of "Give Me Your Love" that someone posted a scan of (and I saw went for 3 bills on Popsike ) and was played on wHITEY ON THE MOOn the other night...that shit tears.

Lyn Collins - Think (Probably all time fav JB Prod.)

After those 3 it's a toss up, so I'll just throw in a 4th tune that I've been listening to a lot lately
