JohnB, how in the world did you come by that one? She's like the local rock/soul wannabe-Tina Turner here. She used to be in a terrible 80s funkfusion band called Blast. Never thought anyone outside of DK would know about her!
Agreed but it's not exactly a faithful cover of Hey Jude though, is it? They more or less repeat the ending for a few minutes then stop. Which is fine by me.
Worst version ever has to be by the Grateful Dead. Although they did some nice covers ("Not Fade Away" and the Jerry Garcia Band's take on "Dear Prudence") they had no idea what to do with "Hey Jude." Truly awful (and I like the Dead).
O.C. Wright Ripple Blast Singers Overton Berry Sonny & Cher
Do you mean the O.C. Smith version, or does O.V. Wright have a version? I O.V. and O.C. mixed up all the time.
The O.C. Smith version is my favorite. The H.B. Barnum arrangment kills it.
Oh, right.... O.C. Smith. That cornball ass muthaf***a. I don't know much about the arrangement, just the drumbreak that can be found and chopped within the song. I have never even listened to the song in entirely. I am a fool who does not listen to music, I just skim through it (to find breaks). Diamond D was on his first album.
