Curitiba Strut
a local friend tells me the most bohemian neighborhood is the Centro and Centro Antigo, around Rua Trajano Reis and Rua São Francisco. She says there's lots of options around there for places to stay.
to go looking for records:

from what I understand they're all close to each other, the used record shops in Brazil all tend to stay in the city's old downtown area, I'm sure Curitiba is no different.
also, I've never been to Curitiba, but I hear that train ride up the mountain is actually pretty nice. You can probably find some good local beers too, southern Brazil is where the best microbrews are being made right now. And the local specialty is a beef stew type thing called barreado.

Coltrane and Ornette Coleman are 2 cats that I just don't get. But yeah, duh, I should try a bunch of different albums before writing them off.
try this one too:
obviously I don't expect everyone to ride for things like Interstellar Space, but I never thought of A Love Supreme being a difficult record in any way.
