DIN+Avenir are two current faves.

that's a good point. i think my paying-for-music meter is set too high.

Both Dante and Georges were thanked for supplying singles from their personal collections (sorry Georges, didn't know you were yoigotbeats) SOULSTRUT PERSONAE REVEALED! I just got a notice in the mail from my local library that they are holding a …

A friend of my dad's gave this to me on a VHS years ago and the drum solo freaked me out to no end. I've long since lost the tape, so thank you very much! This drummer (can't remember his name) is one of the coolest cats from this solo alone.

I've been told that Royal Gardens in North Olmsted is pretty cool, but haven't been there myself... I'll check it out and report back for any other Clevelanders...

Shenmue 3 on X-box, even though I was secretly hoping for a Shenmue Online. Damn you Yu suzuki. - spidey think you got that backwards... Shenmue Online is for real: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shenmue_Online Shenmue 3 is very likely never going …

shenmue this shit was dope! anyone ever catch the second one? Shenmue 2 is (if you can believe it) about 1000x better than the first one. It's literally the best video game experience I've ever had. Utterly absorbing and...shit, the last disc/segm…

I'm thinking this is a question for Dante: http://www.ohiosoulrecordings.com/t.htm

no love for Kentucky Bourbon?

agreed. a totally unique film in terms of storytelling style. thoroughly non-linear.

it's way way for sure I'm a TV junkie, too, and I would definitely say it's the best show on TV right now, and one of the best shows ever made, SF or otherwise. Kicks Lost's ass, and i've been a Lost diehard from day 1. Don't even bother thinki…

HELL YES. This show has been kicking ass since day 1. Couple slow patches in Season 2, but Season 3 has been firing on all cylinders. Nothing beats that fucking Galactica rescue episode.

you can also simply hold down Option when you click on the link and it automatically downloads to your desktop. that's the simplest mac download method.

that might be my favorite Dilla shit ever, actually. The way he chops that song up is totally brilliant. on the whole I think my favorite Another Batch, too, though.
-
i would say that this book is very confidence inspiring for creative people (artists, musicians, writers, etc.), but it doesn't hold for everday life... her philosophy is good, but a bit too hardcore to permeate into everything you do. that said, i…

yeah, this loudness issue is why i can't listen to most major label "pop" stuff. It just bleeds my ears...the sonics have just become so piercing. nice article!

hell yeah, Studio 60 rocks. Sorkin might be an uppity elitist, but he's my kind of uppity elitist. Judd Hirsch's meltdown was one of the best moments on television. Too bad, he's not a regular, but at least we have Whitford flipping out on every…

the automatic missing artwork downloading thing is neato. it's shocking what they have access to. no idea where the artwork is being pulled from, but I had Hailu Mergia in there, and it pulled down the artwork for that. that's crazy to me. I can't i…

then you need to make sure that whatever program you are using is a "Universal" application. Not sure if Audacity or Amadeus have gone Universal or not, but using non-Universal for audio work on an Intel Mac is gonna cause dragging and crashing. So…

FYI: for those interested in some other shit, here is bootleg recording of some new beats that will probably end up on a new Sixtoo LP being performed live, with Damo Suzuki improvising. (From Nearworlds.org) Damo Suzuki, Sixtoo, AIDS Wolf, Feu Ther…

yeah, it remains one of the best mixes of the type, I think. No idea what the track is you are talking about, though. (first post: hello everyone.)
-
what is the title of the the sinista mix at the top, or how does it begin? It's just called "DJ...Mista...Sinista" on the side. It starts with an MC Serch intro, then goes into "Here is where your love is (prelude)," "The Reel Ku-koo," "Eyes May Sh…

I rarely ever left the house in those days without the 2 tapes here at the top (roc raida and sinista): Sinista was the funkiest fucker on the scratch. WTF is up to these days, anyone know?
