The last time I was in New Orleans I was on the hunt for this record. I didn't find a copy when there but the the following week I bought a record collection and came across a copy in it. It's hard filed now.

Last month I played this set at the Vinyl Groove 2019 SXSW DJ Showcase at The Golden Goose Lounge in Austin. It's been a long time since I have made a funk and soul mix. Playing records at The Golden Goose was fun because I was able to to play recor…

I hadn't heard of them until this week and they are from Texas. Their Tiny Desk on NPR is pretty good too.

I haven't finished listening to the entire mix yet but I like what I've heard so far. One of these days I hope to get around to making another jungle mix myself. The last one I made a year ago went to #19 on the Mixcloud Jungle Chart.

Yellow Magic Orchestra was a cover version also. Martin Denny was the OG version.

These were my most recent buys on a trip to New Orleans. I was happy to find the Fifty Foot Hose. The Lee Dorsey LP was is a still sealed mono copy also.

I've bought and sold around 20,000 records over the past 8 or so years. Right now I have around 4,500 records (1,000 45s and 3,500 LPs and 12"). I had around 6,500 but purged 2,000 when I moved a couple months ago. I'll purge even more eventually bu…

I like Kon's edits also but this one sounds way too busy. The music video is like that also. There's a lot going on but it doesn't translate well into this track.

Are face tattoos a requirement? Good for them getting hundreds of millions of youtube views though.

Thanks. I can see the appeal but it doesn't do anything for me. I'm old and jaded though.

Tiny Desk is quickly becoming my favorite thing on NPR.
