I'm addicted to the stuff. The stronger and saltier the better. Best shit is coming from Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Netherlands.

Also like the bittersweet raw licorice from Spain and Italy is great.

My experience is that people either love it or absolutely hate it. What's your opininon?

One of my favorite Jerry Garcia quotes -

"Our audience is like people who like licorice. Not everybody likes licorice, but the people who like licorice really like licorice."

    I can't stand the stuff.

That product name pretty much sums up my personal feelings about the stuff, but I can appreciate people's love for the candy. After all, I like root beer and peanut butter.

Licorice tastes good to me. Not really down with the salty, ammonia-tinged stuff I tried in Sweden, but for the most part, I'm down.

Yo man i fuckin love licorice as long as its dark, and full flavored - salt or sweet i dont care for the honey flavors.
You can put some licorice into clear vodka type liquor and let it sit for a few days to get licorice liqour - very nice.
Also as kids we used to love chomping on licorice roots - i still cop a stick every now and then.

Yeah me too funny but fennel is much more subtle. I accidentally ate some liqorice yesterday had to spit it out straight away. Celery and Liqorice are my two food kryptonites.

  • I'm down, my corner candy spot stocks Dubbel Zout only.

What are the saltiest, nastiest joints? I want my ass to pucker.

Filled with extra salt. Great nastiness.

That's my shit. Filled with ammonium chloride and chilly powder. Could eat this all day.

Even the providers of generally the more pussy-ish stuff like Katjes and Haribo have some recommandable ones.

And the ones I'm eating right now:

If they put the warning "Adult Licorice - Not for children" on the bag you can be pretty sure it's good stuff inside. But you have to be careful, excessive consume can cause cardiac arrhythmias.

I was introduced to the salt-laced licorice a couple years ago (I think it was from Denmark). I like licorice, but without the salt.

    Those are classic.
Being Danish I guess we have the "advantage" of growing up with licorioce. Feels kinda cool like Mexicans downing Tequila like it's nothing or something...

Or like Mexicans eating hard candy layered in chili powder.

    So good.
