Dude in the middle (top): keyboards (brain of the band)Dude on the left: bass player Dude on the right: guitar, lead vocalDude in the middle (bottom): Drums Dude on the left used to play guitar too, but he doesn't have the looks and the confidence (plus the HUGE zippers) of dude on the right, so he was forced to pick up the bass or leave the band.I'm just guessing (no line up info on the sleeve). I just love it when those cats have their instrument baked into them. More examples please.

    disagree

dude in the top middle is obviously the drummer.

center guy is the lead singer / guitarist

the suspect guy on the left is the keyboard player and the dude on the right is the bass player

you can tell the drummer because the drummer always has the stash

the bass player is always a prety boy as he doesnt really have much to do.

dude i nthe bottom middle is obviously the frontman as he' by far the most rockstar looking.

the keyboard dude (who admittadly is the brains of the band) is always bitter and grouchy that he gets no respect for his flourid arangements.

  • Hm, you've got me questioning my own thesis. I'll get back on this.

Middle (bottom) guy is the youngest and most drummers are the younger members... That was my logic. Guy on the right does look like a lazy-ladies-man. You've got a point there...

Clearly this is a power group. There is no keyboard player. They use an anonymous keyboard player in the studio (Mickey Hopkins perhaps.) Dude on right is the lead singer, (no time to study scales, gotta do the hair). Bottom dude is lead guitar, co-frontman. Guy on left is drummer, (he can through the sticks in the air, toss his hair around, then catch the sticks). Little dude in the middle is bass player, (never takes his eyes of the fretboard).

At their first really BIG gig the drummers was thinking to himself, "Were gonna be millioniares, I'm getting a Jaguar". The lead singer was thinking, "I'm gonna be rich and beautiful, I'm getting laid tonight". The guitarist was thinking, "Oh boy, here comes the money, nothing but vintage gear for me". The bass player was thinking:

    "G-G, C-C, G-G, D-D".

im my experience the hardest member of any group to find is the drummer... thus the ugliest dude is always the drummer... nobody would let a dude that ugly hang out in front on the stage... even playing bass.

I agree on the original thesis. The guy in the top middle is obviously the keyboard player. They always got that braniac vibe, like:

    Edgar Froese

    Rainer Br??ninghaus

    Chick Corea:

    Joe Zawinul

    Keith Jarrett

    Variation: funky braniac[/b]

    Billy Preston

    Larry Willis

    Herbie Hancock

    Variation: spiritual braniac[/b]

    Sun Ra

    Variation: freaky braniac[/b]

    Brian Eno

I used to have that Skorpio record. Crappy Hungarian powerrock. I think they did another one that is much better. Can't remember who played what, though.

  • Ha ha! That was what I was thinking. But then it does get easier when you know the record. Most tunes are power group-like and crappy, I agree, but then there's this 8 minute track which is an ambitious and keyboard driven version of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. Typical ego-track of a braniac keyboard player (and not all bad, I think).

Here's another cover with, I think, very nice portrets of the musicians. For what it's worth: My guess is (far right) keyboards, (centre right) singer, guitar, (centre left) bass, (left) drums.

If you are familiar with this record, you will agree that the very unfocused glance of the guy centre right tells he is the singer. One track goes like: "Disco music good, I like Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones. I like Beatles too, yeah" (think feeble breakbeat, fuzz guitar, keyboard effects). This record kills me and should be worth zillions.

(note how I fucked up the cover with A- sticker tear and B- lighter burn).

None of them are musicians or keyboardists. Said picture is a reissue of gay 70s porn.

    Probably same production values.

funny the strange already-commented-upon-with-mspait pictures you find through google...

  • I think Rod Temperton (the other guy behind Michael Jackson) would fit in to that brainy keys dude category too:

The guy on the right definitely guitar and vocals. He's got the Uncle Jesse hair/Freddy Mercury look.

That Karl from Die hard looking guy on the left has to be the lead singer. You gotta be confident to wear pinky polyester pants.

Dude on the bottom with the lazy eye and dumb expression gotta be the drummer.

Dexters laboratory looking nerd in the middle I'm guessing is either keyboard player or flute player.
