Got into Tumblr a while ago when I was thinking of starting up a new site to satisfy the itch I had to start writing drivel about music again, never did bother starting it up properly but still following a few sites anyway, mainly through the mobile app rather than pc though.

As for the point of tumblr (beyond Blogger being soooo 2007), it's incredibly quick and easy to update, very easy to link in with fellow tumblr posters and also automatically formatted for mobile devices so it's kind of like a cross between a blog rss feed and twitter. Not essential but a useful alternative for when you want to keep things short and sweet.
