I havent seen Clarks on the street in a long minute.

But I agree that they are Classic.

They're not a hip-hop fashion anymore, but I think they predated hip-hop by about three decades.

I wear them, but not with jeans.

I bought a new pair of sand suede wallabies last fall after my puppy chewed a hole through my 11 year old ones.

    Them shits are calassic.

Worn strictly with jeans. Curious to know what faux wears his with...khakis? corduroys?

No doubt. Like Playboys or the OG British Walkers they are Street Shoes that got absorbed into Hip Hop for a long minute.

U wear them w/ Wide Wedge Cordouroys in the Summer?

Only if you consider Rage Against the Machine "hip hop."

I don't think anyone who considered themselves into hip hop would be caught dead wearing JNCO jeans.

That being said I had some BOSS, Mecca, Southpole, Ecko, etc. gear.

And think we're all ignoring the mainstream hip-hop uniforms of the 90s:

    Tommy Hilfiger
    Polo
    Ralph Lauren
    etc.

I have some corduroys that I'll wear with them.

I like them in spring/summer with some cotton/linen blend slacks.

He models them with shorts because he is not a real badman.

Ralph Lauren transcends Hip Hop and never tried to placate them.

Whereas Tommy was some Psudeo-preppy upstart that got co-opted by Hip Hoppers and then looked to them for promotions.

I rememeber when Swatch gear was heat for a minute, during the 80's Rugby days along with Disney and Coca-Cola joints.

    ICEBERG!!!!!!

I never was a Clark cat but a pair of crispy joint are fly. Preferable Cream.

Desert Boots had a big run in the 80's

    Haha...

There's a great photo in the below sadly out of print book of Lone Ranger posing against a motorcycle wearing navy wallabies, light blue slacks and a navy tanktop with skyblue piping.

That is the place I am trying to get to.

When I read that Liam Gallagher of Oasis had started a clothing line, I wasn't expecting a great deal from it, but I have to admit these are nice.

Slept on--nobody ever talks about it. A lot of the books on reggae that are out there recycle the same photos (not to mention the same information), but I think all the images in this book originated there.

I've heard he's very hands-on when it comes to design, cut, quality of fabric and all that stuff. There isn't a lot in there that I'd wear, but most of it looks wearable nonetheless.

Some one is actually wearing them in this picture. There's a pair of legs & shoes under all that denim.

I'm just wondering if/when "the sag" will ever end. It seems to only have gotten worse. I see these emo/hipster/whateverthefuckyoucallthemnow kids with women's jeans on that are skin tight around the ankles with the crotch around the knees. I feel embarrassed for people when I see that.

i've been wondering the same thing. when i got detention for doing it 20-someodd years ago i never imagined it would still be around in 2010.

Its time will come sooner or later. There are only so many things you can do with pants. At some point, high-water or hip-huggers will have to come back, even amongst the directionless youth.

perhaps it has come full circle. considering how snug the average pair of levis was in the late-80s--it would be a few years before i embraced the concept of over-sized pants--i probably looked not unlike the tight-pants kids who are doing it today.

Its the "20 year Sag" phenomenon.
    sad news. already happening.

Was just about to say the same... I'm already unhappy about it.
