The Average White Band - Would You Stay?

    Yo,

    "Jungle Brothers, JBs for short
A biter bit my rhyme and we almost fought, but
If I fought a brother I thought that would be wrong, so
I let him go I let him run along (run along)
I write rhymes like I come from New York City
My DJ mix the music down to the nitty gritty
Run to Downstairs searchin' five days a week
Searchin' and seekin' for the Baby Bam beat
The African rap that comes from within us
Brothers heard about us now they wish they could've been us
We did an album, with no problem
Now we're workin' on another with another Jungle Brother
    Me, Q-Tip, his name
He's into business, not into games
So Q-Tip when the light turns green
Grap your bone and show 'em what I mean."

My bone is grabbed, this is what I mean.
I brag a grab, and here's the scene.
    Q-Tip, [Q-Tip] from A Tribe Called Quest,
On The Jungle Brother's album, oh yes.
So get the ducats it's coming out soon.
A month after March, two before June,
It's nice. With Ali Shaheed Mohammed, my DJ who
    Is real dominant. [Mohammed, Mohammed]
He and I form the funky Tribe.
If you want to get with it, just feel the vibe. [Feel the vibe]
Me and Ali are extremely witty and...
And to be heard like the horn of Gideon.
Get it? If not you're a goner.
Get wise or get something, cause your going to want to.
Lamp, after you hear from me.
The Tip from Quest my DJ's Ali.
Say it from the Catskills, to the Soho.
Listen to the words they say on The Promo.
    To the bewildered,
    Let it be said.
I'll mix you up more like DJ Red
So Mike G, when the light turns red,
    Don't stop, proceed ahead.....

    Hey Lucious,

    I didn't forget about you:

"Gon' wit' yo, gon' wit yo,
Gon' on wit' yo baaaaad self..."

"Well I'm goin' (where?) straight to the tip-top
Eatin' crazy fruit, so I can't stop
Squattin' here, listen to the LP
'Straight Out the Jungle" by the JBs
Baby-Bam beat keeps the bass bottom bouncin'
    Suckers literin', girls ouncin'
    Women inchin', girls pinchin
Run to the record store to see if this 12" is in
    Remixes, our fix is
We write it, you like it
    Rap music, house music
No matter what it is the JBs can do it."

    Adlibs to fade

Also, let me add on this:

    -"Say it Again"-Sweet Linda Divine.

    Peace,

    "I'm Your Puppet"
    "Kool Is Back"
"Synthetic Substitution": Out-there lyrics and grand piano that has the similar effect to...
"Hyperbolicsesq...": Always gives me goosebumps, even though I could never place exactly who, among the many, used that long, sinister piano bridge.
Labbi Siffre "I Got The Blues": Knowing the ensuing hilarious legal drama following the use of the jaunty little keyboard breakdown adds to the enjoyment.
"Seven Minutes Of Funk": Who was the one here that owns the carpet to the alternate cover to this record? Great bassline.
"Bra": Like the above, it's a catchy, off-kilter bassline that commands the entire flow of the song. I'm reminded of the Anna Paquin and Philip Seymour Hoffman comedy relief in 25th Hour. What is "Bra", anyway? Slangier "bro"?
Jackson 5 "It's Great To Be Here": Steel drums!
"Nautilus" and "Seed Of Love" really get me going, too.
