    You can't kill the metal
    The metal will live on
Punk-Rock tried to kill the metal
But they failed, as they were smite to the ground
New-wave tried to kill the metal
But they failed, as they were stricken down to the ground
Grunge tried to kill the metal Ha,hahahahaha
They failed, as they were thrown to the ground
    Aargh! yaow!

    No-one can destroy the metal
The metal will strike you down with a vicious blow
We are the vanquished foes of the metal
We tried to win for why we do not know

New-wave tried to destroy the metal, but the metal had its way
Grunge then tried to dethrone the metal, but metal was in the way
Punk-rock tried to destroy the metal, but metal was much too strong
Techno tried to defile the metal, but techno was proven wrong
    Yea!

    Metal!
    It comes from hell!

  • this looks great fun from the tracklist - -thanks for posting it.

Thanks for the good words. Any feedback is appreciated. I realize "Black Betty" doesn't exactly fit the genre, but it mixed well, is a dope song, and I wanted to use the Wrestler sound. Feel free to share with your folks.

Cool. Glad I offended someone. I thought Soulstrut was getting soft.

Obviously, you two stiffs haven't listened to the partial mix. I'm not here to have an obscure Heavy Metal record knowledge challenge. Just sharing a fun mix. Bottom line is that I could own both of you on the turntables.

If it makes you feel any better, during the 2001 summer I toured with a band that featured the guitarist (John Torres) from Angel Witch.

And, this mix will open this Saturday's Fog City Wrestling card at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco. Peaces!!!

    No doubt

I use a Fisher-Price Big Bird portable but I wouldn't dare let it's beak hit a Quiet Riot record.

No need to get pissy. I've never spun two turntables in my life, I'm not a DJ. That said, if your mix was funk it would include Superfreak, Disco Duck, and I Will Survive.

I don't know much about music.

Representing The Scorpions and Dokken as "Satan's Work" is pure comedy.

  • If you think Raw B's taste in metal is suspect, you should see his taste in beer.

However, I can safely say that he is one of the best DJs I've ever heard.

Wow, dudes are going hard with the "that ain't metal" mindset. Let's be real, no one wants to hear an hour mixtape of the heaviest, grind-core "real" metal. Take that schitt to KERRANG! Or maybe some of you do.

This lite-Metal mixtape sounds fun. Ill take a listen.

I never categorized "Black Betty" as metal, mainly classic (heavy) rock. Still a badass song.

dudes. you all have entirely missed the point of this mix, it is supposed to be fun and over the top. And RawB hit the nail on the hairspray encrusted head.

Give it another spin. And stop thinking, cause the guys who made these tunes sure weren't.

Why is it cool/fun to play bad metal, but guys take funk so serious?

Dudes would clown if this was a mix of Wild Cherry and Hot Chocolate.

I don't care either way, just an interesting point.

I'm not sure there is such a thing as good or bad metal.

    Metal is metal.
