the main reasoning i believe that Syaid is Jacob was due to the asian dude cut his hand and placed it in the water...which did not heal him (this is the same thing they did to young Ben when Sayid shot him) Ben was healed and seemed to be fine, which iassumed they were going to replicate with Sayid...hell Sayid was almost completely dead when they brought him to the temple anyway...theres no other explaination for him to be alive, of course theres no way to guarantee this until we see what happens, but its very VERY plausible that it very well is Jacob, it almost backs the story as to why they (Ilana, Bram and co) had to bring Lockes body to the temple, Jacob needed a loophole after he new that the MIB had found his own loophole which is why he didnt fight back against Ben, he new his time had come...which is another reason as to why they took good care of Lockes body while he was dead..
