The Clash - Wrong Em Boyo
- Canned Heat - "The Harder They Come"
- Chambers Brothers - "Stop The Train"
- Now Generation - "Israelites" (this was a bunch of Nashville studio musicians who cranked out lame cover versions of late sixties hits)
The Specials - "A Message to you Rudy"
Not really a cover though, no?
strangest thing ever.
although he came with those poetic justice braids later on, so maybe it was there all along and I just missed it...
Man sings I Don't Like Reggae I Love It to drive me nuts. It works.
edit: found this.
Start Me Up
kinda close no? never heard the stones do cherry oh baby.
That version of "get up, stand up" is dope.
Well, the song itself originated with the O'Jays, so we can't really say it's a "reggae" tune as such.
can you defend the braids?
does Massive Attack doing "Man Next Door" count if Horace Andy is singing?
Reggae songs covered by Ska bands is splitting hairs a bit, no?
I got one, but in reverse: UB40 covering Neil Diamond's "Red Red Wine"
or the Slits doing "Man Next Door"... i know there are more punk ones, i just can't think of em...
there are tons and tons of drum n bass and dubstep remixes of classic reggae, but i don't think that's what yr looking for...
