Just woke up from pulling an allnighter --- 4 hours sleep. I am still dreaming.........................
New York Strutters beware: It will arrive today.
This makes me want to drive up the 1 in a convertable going 15 miles per hour. Stop off in Monteray, look at the sea otters. I imagine this would be the music playing if I were to somehow sub-consciously fall off one the cliffs in Big Sur. Staring down at the bubbling foam, gurgling water, tidepools and sharp rock faces, about to become reunited with great cosimc ocean of time. I feel like a barnicle -- merely waiting, with no expectations for an answer tomorrow.
I actually think I have one these records -- hooray for me.
someone PMed and asked what the mellow sax and synth track is... it is larry nozaro TIME on STRATA. they also asked me if it is rare... the answer is " yes, very ". . . . i would love to hear more inpressions about what you like / don't like about the music.
kinda reminds me of Vangelis-Blade Runner sdtk.
I like most of this. Track 3 is fresh! I like tracks 4 and 5 best: 4 is instrumental bliss and 5 is mythical voyage/epic quest type steez.
I'm not sure if track 11 is Wilburn Burchette or the Pygmies. I'm not really feeling the atonal pan flute music or whatever is track 11. It reminds me of a friend who used to play the pan flute and beatbox at the same time while also doing spoken word.
Track 6 I wasn't feeling was where dude is singing "mother mother mother ...dear...we really looooovveee youu." Reminds of seeing someone at an open mic who is really sincere in baring their soul but the performance/artistry is not good. The actual music sounds like War..nice relaxing summer music. Instrumental version please.
Overall, it's a good comp of mellow, relaxing and contemplative music. You gotta be prepared to settle down to really appreciate it. No multitasking. Just chill and listen. Nice drive through the desert music.

no love for Nozero? sayong Aleit gonna club you on the head
Track 2 is killing me right now. I've listened to it like 20 times since 4 hours ago. This cd has the same affect on me as Morton Feldman's music, only more optimistic. What's great about it is that there is no sense in any of these songs that they want to do something pop or to please anyone else. Dr. Benson sure likes to stretch those instrumentals out.
I just listened to this on my laptop. There is a function in iTunes which converts the music into fields of color, fractals, flowing lines and other tripped out shit. I recommend you all try this as it enhances the experience of this thoughtful mix.
AP -- You've made my recovery (from surgery) a little easier today.

i recently had the pleasure of meeting on of my favorite private issue new age artists that bearded douglas turned me onto. his name is peter davidson. the three of us met at starbucks in santa monica.
he proceeded to tell us about how he dumped his intricate state of the art late 70's analog home studio and even worse threw the remaining copies of all of his records in a grabage can ( he put out two recordings in the late 70's / early 80's ).
raer.
needless to say this did not do much for my appreciation of his music.
he is still a rad dude and his albums are incredible. it just sometimes bums me out to see the changes in artists.
If anyone else out there is lovin that Peter Davidson track and having a hard time searching for it, its probably cuz his name is actually Peter Davison. Thought I'd mention that.
davidson glaide 1 / 2 is facemelt. the beard took me to meet him at starbucks in santa monica on day a few months ago. he dumped the remainders of his two self-released records in a garbage dumpster about 5 years age. raer. the beard sold a copy of his album music is on the way to some soulstrut kid during an ebay auction for like $12 a few months ago.
there are a lot of christian groups called manna. this is the one on the airborn label. there is a picture of it in the wax poetics article you wrote.

Dudes -- Peter Davison does not have any records for you so please don't bother him.
Go get Daniel Kobialka. You heard it here first. Hypnotic (literally will hypnotize you) new age dollar bin perfection available everywhere. Better than Burchette, better than Peaceful Solutions, even better, believe it or not, than the almighty Peter Davision. But will anyone follow up on this helpful clue? NO. Nobody listens to me. Baaaaaaaaa
"Another breakbeat casualty," was AP's comment when he opened the Shira Small record someone on here sent to his PO Box. Hahahahahahahaha. People, send those records to me.

Really good record. they had several sealed copies at Ameoba in Berkely for $1.99 less than one month ago. I've really been digging all the 1750 Arch stuff since I moved to NoCal.
Daniel Kobialka is facemelt. The Beard is right. There are tons of uber rare items in this genre but you do not know shit until you check the basics. Yes, its true Nate Bizzo sent me Shira Small. He even posted a picture of it on here before he sent it to me. It is a retard record. I sent him uber rare and $75 in demand impossible to find Hoctor Modern Dance One by Kupka in exchange but he thought it was
I will trade funk and breaks for private issue new age all day long. Hence the Beards comment " You should just sent it to AP ".
