I usually place Rakim w/ Kane & G.Rap. b, 21b, 21But I think those 2 edge him out when its time to get quick.b, 21b,121And Overall he comes up a lil slow. Juice is kinda fast but still.b,121No Omega is a very good attempt.b, 21b, 21Thoughts?

But can any off them F*ck with Percee P on the fast tip?b,121b, 21I think why Rakim doesnt sound as good as G Rap on fast flows is cuase his voice is deeper, so something about the tone just doesnt work...just like Guru rapping fast, sounds off.

Percee has maintained that style and I saw him performing live last year and he was killing it, like a machine gun on the mic... didnt miss a beat or a word (and thats live, no punch ins, no dubs!)... I mean if you listen to the Madlib remix of Percee last LP, it sounds shit cus the beats are too slow for him...thats what made me really appreciate his quick delivery skills.b,121b, 21and we can't forget Treach (at least the first few NBN albums anyways...)

G Rap is the man. Live and Let Die is my shit. To me, G Rap is one of the better GOATS because he made good albums. Good choice of production, good stories, good rhymes, unique voice. He's the winner for me as GOAT because he has made the most albums I can listen to straight through. BDK is a GOAT, but album wise he's not as strong. Percee, sorry, but he's a solid ep.b,121b, 21 img src="http://www.propartganda.com/king/images/goat.jpg"1

font class="post"1b,121b, 21Now I KNOW you're not for real. Treach? Why don't you throw in Chip Fu and the Micro Machines dude if we're talking about dudes who can just say words fast? img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /1b,121b, 21For real tho, Percee is real nice dude and one of the illest fast rap MCs especially in his prime/ "Let the Homicides Begin"/"Lung Collapsing" days. He just doesn't fit with Madlib style beats.

Nah I'm not writing off all their records, I'm just saying throwing Treach in the mix of BDK, G Rap, Percee for GOAT status is nutso.b, 21b, 21This is supposed to be about Rakim anyway. lol

font class="post"1b,121b, 21Well, the way I see it, he switched from the more discernable, nasal voicing of the early singles like "Eric B Is President" to the more deep, mumbly thing pretty early on (balls hadn't dropped yet?). And while I love the deep-voiced Rakim, the high-pitched yoot Rakim probably would have been more distinctive on fast jams.b, 21b,121I always liked LL Cool J on uptempo jams, even if it wasn't his specialty. He kills it on "Walking With A Panther": "It Get's No Rougher", "Nytro", "Why Do You Think They Call It Dope?" (using the same JB sample as "No Omega"). He sounds good when he's amped.
