Couldn't say, as I don't have the first one....but the whole thing through is almost as good as the track I mentioned, so imho it is a pretty strong record.
If you like the Zombies it is highly recommended.

    1. Slim Thug- "I Ain't Heard" (I know I'm probably real late on this- gotta get up on my country fried hip hop, mane)
    2. Marvin Gaye- "Time To Get It Together" (see location) and the whole "Here, My Dear" lp
    3. Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell- "Keep On Lovin' Me Honey" and the whole "The Complete Duets" set
    4. Kanye West- "Golddigger" (I can't stop singing this shizz) and Ray Charles "I Got A Woman"
    5. Rhymefest featuring Kanye West (or vice versa)- "Brand New"

The top 5 really would've consisted of joints from my upcoming "A New Way Of Walking" modern-ish mix cd, but I can't let those kitties out of the bag just yet!

Honorable mention: Willie Evans Jr.- "Work Your Soul"

alice russell is growing to be one of my favorite vocalists now and the drums on this track are fucking massive

Ray Charles "I Got A Woman"

DUDE. I love this song so much. When its really really really fucking loud it sounds dope. Its got a swing to it that there should be a name for. Like De Ja Vu, only the french decided to give that a name, right? well that groove or feeling or whatever from I got a woman should have a name. And if it does then tell me or I will kill you.

  • Wornell Jones - must have been love that brought us together
Jones girls - children of the night
Tony Sherman - As (killer version of the Stevie tune found it on 45 last week)
Four below zero - my baby's got ESP
Sinnamon - i need you now

  • 4. James Brown "A Blind Man Can see it"(full length version)...the orignal 7 and a half minute take of this bad-ass tune from "Black Caesar"..it is included as the bonus track on the "In a Jungle Groove" CD...damn, why was this tune edited down to 2 minutes on the OST? I need a copy of this full-legnth version on vinyl.

Was released on one of those booty Polydor 12" two months ago and should still be out there.... features an extended take of "the boss" as well!

    5. King Coleman "Crazy Feeling" off a comp of new digs High-C made a while back,

Glad you like. I need to put the flip side on a CD for you. Equally good.

    TOP 5 from the weekend
(I still can't believe I actually found records in this city. shit's been sad round here

    1. Tortilla Factory - Cookin'

apropriately titled primo tex mex funk. Rest of the LP consists of straight up Ranchera Bolero Tacos Al Pastor y Torta jams and I love them.

    2. Jimmy Salcedo Y La Onda Tres - Que Lindo Es Columbia

Bouncy, funky, soulful ode to Medellin. Produced by somebody named Escobar. Also a hot salsa-y funky track called Mira.

    3. Jimmy Salcedo Y La Onda Tres - Concierto Pop

Illest cover ever and to my surprise the music is equally psychcadelic. Latin fuzzy funk? I'll take it.

    4. Nancy Priddy - You've Came This waY b4 or whatever

    late pass. my bad.

    5. Undisputed Truth - Ball of Confusion

Motown Psychadelic cash-in steez. Echo-y dubbed out vocals and guitar distortion overkill. Like A Rolling Stone is also a weiner.

    Honorable Mentions:

    Ian Carr - Roots
The Travel Agency LP on Viva

  • Santana - Jingo
    Beck - Missing
Mark III Trio - Tres Lobos
    Louis Chachere - The Hen
    Allen Toussaint - Either
