thank you so much. this shit just gets me hype and missing my old kit which has now been passed down to my little brothers. keep it up dude, VERY APPRECIATED.
to hemol: kinda know what you're saying with the bass tone being a bit harsh and too sharp. might try going back into it, but as soon as I would do that, there would be 1000 other things to start tinkering with too. we'll see.
to OST: yup, wack old Mac Kissoon. one of the only times I've sold a record that I've sampled. I usually like to keep em for reference at least, but that one was really horrible. His voice didn't sound that great originally, so it def doesn't help that I pitched it up, but it was either that or re pitch the bass and clav and flute. Plus, the backup singers here are the real killers.
well, i got started on requests. heres my first and favorite...i kinda had to piece a couple bars together because my memory just inst good enough for the whole pattern, but i tried my best:
cool, thanks guys. i will try to record these tonight after work.
Doggone in its entirety would be fun but i just dont think i have the patience for that. the fast part is one of my favorite drum moments ever recorded. such great style.

Me too man , I love that break (no pun intended).
I was totally joking , that would be a real pain in the ass to duplicate.

yeah haha..the slow part would be pretty easy though. really easy.
i also wanna mention that in my rendition of "the dump" i played 8ths on the hi-hat instead of 16ths. this was a mistake on my part, since its kinda hard to hear that hes actually doing 16ths.
Quote:h, 21b, 21Just finished a better 2nd mix. changed the compression, simplified it a bit, changed the break, and added a crucial bongo. I always appreciate feedback. b, 21b, 21On Yer Feet MIX2/a1b, 21
b, 21b, 21b, 21bump, for an most unbelievable not to be forgotten thread.
Glad this was bumped. The only famous break I have mastered is the Al Green rimshot/open hat/tom one. And even that is nowhere on the level as this stuff. Fantastic.
