    I am vaguely reminded of a back issue of the Source that I borrowed from a friend circa 1994, which included some sort of a survey on which artists best exemplified certain characteristics that year. I can't really blame my mans n'nem for scribbling "LADY OF RAGE" in the blank next to "SEXIEST FEMALE ARTIST," but couldn't he have just skipped over the "SEXIEST MALE ARTIST" category? Did he really have to scrawl "SNOOP!" and then compound matters by trying to erase it? And was his attempt to destroy the shameful evidence rooted in an appropriate sense of chagrin or by a change of heart--by a realization that the preceding year had exposed us to at least one significantly sexier male artist? The mind boggles. And also shudders.
