R*s, you are aware that our countryman Peter Thorup who just died two months ago is the second singer (alongside Alexis Korner) in C.C.S., right?

I saw him make a surprise appearance with Niels J??rgen Steen & his A-Team big band 2 years ago @ the CPH Jazz Festival.

This pic is actually from that koncert:

He was really great that day, even though he was obviously not in top physical shape, weakened by too many years of heavy boozing. He had a pretty rough life. That performance made me want to get in touch with him to ask if he would sing on a track. Never got around to doing it. Too late now. R.I.P.

I really like "Brother" which features both Korner and Thorup from that album.

Their cover of sunshine of your love is a killer - if it wasn't for Spanky Wilson, it would be the best cover of that song ever!

yes i do remember you talking about approaching a old hippie rock singer for a nbtb track.... that was peter thorup, wow... too bad you didnt get to record him, that would have been awesome!!! (rip)

i bumped into soul anders yesterday on the way home, i showed him the record and that was the first thing he said.. ccs the group with peter thorup, thats probably why those ccs's are fairly common here in dk.

i havent heard the alexis korner albums with thorup but i'd guess that they're maybe a little more on the blues rocky side ?

saw this lp http://alexis-korner.net/beesame.html just last week but passed on it cause the vinyl was beyond wrecked..

Cool, I never saw them but they are one of my faves with that early "melodic hardcore" sound. That 7" is outtakes from a 1987 session, good stuff still though.

WARNING: ALL MY FINDS ARE COMMON AND NON-BALLER STATUS

Japanese press of VU sounds amazing. Swiss Movement is NOLA sweet soul
recorded in Detroit(?) and is excellent. And cheap when found. Had been
after the P.F. Sloan for a while, finally caught a cheap one on the 'bay.
Trinity is total facemelt. Like, goodbye face.

Nebraska's most popular and prolific garage band with 2 janglers.

Absolute killer soul 45 with intro that begs for looping if not already done.

    check it out:

There's a clean copy $6 b-i-n on ebay right now. you should buy it.

I freaking LIVE for radio spots. Best one on 45 I've found in a long time:

The other side is labled "White Spots" and the ads talk about the
white chick that's in the movie as well as Pam Grier.

Oh, and a pile of 50-cent rap & reggae from a yard sale
that I really didn't need to buy at all. Compulsive behavior.

  • no pics but i wanted to say that tie is fire......
