    DOPE started in NYC. And like other slang words like FRESH/HYPE/CRUSH/ cats dont use it out here.
    And havent in a minute. None of my peers use that shit and have buried it w/ "Why U Instigatin".

    Outside of NYC.....Ya'll can have it.

    Name me a Hip HOp song w/ "DOPE" (meaning good) made in the last 10 years?

    I always understood him to be delivering those lines from the perspective of himself as a kid--hence the deliberate use of outdated slang.

    How is this term even remotively offensive? Or are you just saying that it's played out? Chicago still uses it - or at least, I do.
