    I'm accross the Hudson at WFMU studios right now in 10 minutes I'll be guesting at Mr. Finewine's show Downtown Soulville. Tune in for some hot African Funk tunes. Tomorrow, I'll be spinning at APT. I'm leaving again Monday but just decided to try and move back here next year. NYC's still the best city on earth.

    For real though, do you say your from NYC when your outside of the tri-state.
    Frequency is from LI as well. This is not New York City. Yonkers is not NYC.
    New Rochelle is not NYC. Yes, its the area but if your in Texas and someone asks where you from or your at a jam and someone yells what borough are you from what do you say?

    If I cant take the train to your house.......

    Nah man, I've never in my life claimed to be from NYC no matter where in the world I am. All I have to do is open my mouth and I'm unmistakably from NY and if asked where it's "Long Island, Merrick, right near Jones Beach".

    Frequency is probably a five-minute drive from me.

    A lot of kids growing up that I knew from Lawrence, Inwood, Hewlett (Five Towns area near Far Rockaway) or Elmont and Valley Stream (near Hollis) will freely claim Queens and it's kind of cute. A somewhat well-known NYC club dj grew up in a SICK multi-million dollar house on the water in Lawrence but claims Queens/Rockaway since it's ten blocks away.

    Shit, I live right over the parkway from the run-down area of Roosevelt and have definitely mentioned that on here a few times, but I'm not about to say I'm from there. No one would believe me anyway, it's 99% minority.
