Yes, its the area but if your in Texas and someone asks where you from or your at a jam and someone yells what borough are you from what do you say? If I cant take the train to your house....... </blockquote> Nah man, I've never in my life claimed to be from NYC no matter where in the world I am. All I have to do is open my mouth and I'm unmistakably from NY and if asked where it's "Long Island, Merrick, right near Jones Beach". Frequency is probably a five-minute drive from me. A lot of kids growing up that I knew from Lawrence, Inwood, Hewlett (Five Towns area near Far Rockaway) or Elmont and Valley Stream (near Hollis) will freely claim Queens and it's kind of cute. A somewhat well-known NYC club dj grew up in a SICK multi-million dollar house on the water in Lawrence but claims Queens/Rockaway since it's ten blocks away. Shit, I live right over the parkway from the run-down area of Roosevelt and have definitely mentioned that on here a few times, but I'm not about to say I'm from there.
