went home for the weekend for my cousin's wedding. little time to dig but did damage when i had time to spare.

$1 each from my secret contact, except for the earl van dyke courtesy of gruvy james which was still surprisingly cheap.

Whoa! I put my laptop in my kitchen sink and get free wifi!

Highlights from last 3 days in North Texas/Southern Oklahoma:

Wend & Bon is my new favorite Barb & Ern-sounding record.

my top two (of many) things I constantly get outbidded on...nice!
I have heard that the Yvonne is from 1963, can anyone confirm that?..I find it hard to believe that those caveman-ass funk banging drums are 44 years old...

Love those bongos on the Emperors, its what makes it a touch above Don's version.

Had to pay loot for this disco rap gem, even though it was misfiled on the 'bay. Prob would have gone for more if accurately described. I only knew it cause it was played on my radio show a while back, and i had added it to my watch lists.

Woah PJ That is a tough record.

I am actually far more enamoured with the flip side ballad.

Nice score. I wish I hadn't been sleeping, my copy needs a serious mint-up (British definition of VG+ related)

yeah no joke......I REALLY like the flip as well. I bought it for the ClassA side, but i did research on it and found a top 5 list where someone had listed the flip, so I figured it was gonna be good. But dam, to me its one of those 80s/modernsoul/ballads that walks the line of being kinda cheesy (that falsetto loses me a bit), but the music is just amazing (that guitar specifically).

Definitely near the top of the "best $3 I ever spent on a 45" list! Great record.

I am straight tripping on the fact that this was originally supposed to be a double LP.

Wow, I've never seen that Arsenio LP before.
Looks really nice - what era are the sessions from?

I like it a lot. They were a group of college and high school kids in Puerto Rico who caught the psychadelic buzz. There are two different pressing, one with 7 Up commercials and one without, both released in '69. Can't help you with the soundclips, but I'd describe it as latin psych rock with a west coast feel, including organ and some fuzz moves, but not guitar centered like Santana. I don't know if that makes too much sense, but its a cool record.

It's a budget pressing of one of his later albums, late 60's probably. Hip Wax calls it "roots music amped up considerably for the demands of the times--really wild!"--so I'm looking forward to hearing it.
