i think i said this somewhere earlier but how silly do you think fader will seem ten years from now for doing a rick ross cover story??? its like if the source ran a cover story on van full of pakistans in '93.
Why?
Didn't he have the year's biggest rap debut?
I don't want to read an article about him, but some people clearly do.
Actually I take that back--now that I think about it, Yung Joc had a bigger debut, but Rowwwsss had the better album.
ricky rows i'm a bows flippin' sowf was on all the hottest remixes too.
Here's some i liked, and this is just rap albums although fader covers the 'range' of rap to softhands indie so i dont know why we're just doing rap but anyway
Killer Mike, T.I., Papa Reu, the Dogg Pound, J Dilla, Trae, Yo Gotti, The Game, Diddy, Snoop, AZ, E-40, B.G., Backwudz, juggaknots, Big Tuck, Fat Joe, Vakill, Keak, Shawnna, Young Dro, Fiend (copyright Noz), Project Pat, Ray Cash, the Roots, Wayne/Baby, Lil boosie etc
rick ross is probably a bit better than a few of these (Lil Boosie was pretty disappointing) but only because ross' beats are so epic. Dude is a one-hit-wonder and no matter how good his album might be i just thought it was weird to give an average-at-best rapper who lucked into a huge hit this PRIME TIME magazine spot. is there no logical limit to your popism!!!

Only in bizarro world would you ask me if I had actually heard anything before hatting on it.

Off the top of my head:
E-40
T.I.
Ghost
Clipse
Trae
Rick Ross
Puffy
Nas
Game
Busta
Like I said--dismal year.
What!!! no Young Dro,Lil Scrappy,Jeezy? you aint reppin' mang.
was anybody here feeling young dro? i liked his album sans the sensitive tracks.
Those were all albums that I was looking forward to, and all three disappointed me. Dro was probably the best of the bunch.
