1st thing that came to mind was...

    "I DON'T KNOW"

  • The Beginning scream on "Get up off of that thing" was used with a mixture of other sounds to create an explosion for a movie.

Possibly the Mother Ship explosion in Independance Day, Or the Re-done Explosion for the Death Star in Star Wars.

    No joke, Fer Real even

    Hey,

    I really liked these:

-"Mista Dobolina"-Del tha Funky Homosapien ("Mind Power").
-"For Better or For Worse"-The Pharcyde ("Rocking Funky Watergate"-JBs).
-"Do the James"-Superlover Cee and Casanova Rud ("Hot Pants").
-"The Phuncky Feel One"-Cypress Hill ("More Peas"-JBs).
-"A Chorus Line"-The Ultramagnetic MCs ("Can I Get Some Help?").
-"Caught Up"-Chubb Rock ("I Got Ants in My Pants").

    Peace,

    Big Stacks from Kakalak

  • Despite being a noted hatteur of the album itself, I like the way "Vibe.... Vibrations" was flipped on Stakes Is High.

  • Hey,

-"A Chorus Line"-The Ultramagnetic MCs ("Cold Blooded")

I thought this was 'can i get some help?'

Is it safe to say that the best use of a vocal sample of a JB-PRODUCED act would be Lyn Collins' "Think" for "It Takes Two"? Though I suppose Bobby Byrd on "I Know You Got Soul" would be a close contender as well.

Oops, my bad!!!! I was thinking about "Chorus Line, Part 2". I corrected my original post accordingly.

"On tempo jack" deserves a mention here too. "These cuts are - Nasty, hey"! But yeah, "I don't know" has to be the ultimate use of JB vocals, sad to think that both the geniuses behind that beat (so to speak) died this year...

Oh shit, that's a really good one. Also, the "oooh!" from "Stone to the Bone" from Super Lover Cee & Casanova Rud's "I Gotta Good Thing."

I have always loved the fact that back in the late 1980s/early 1990s, even when the producer was using a James Brown loop, they often would add in sampled JB grunts and from other cuts.

In the same league: Big Daddy Kane "Raw."

  • It's not a sample per se but I just can't sit down when Brown yells "CLYDE" on the live version of "Give It Up, Turn It Loose".

Of course, "In the jungle" and "Clap your hands... Stomp your feet-ah!" are dope samples from the same jam.

when i heard "rebel without a pause" using "the grunt" it blew me away. while im on the subject of public enemy their use of "blow your head" on "public enemy no1" also rocks my world....

Good one. I always thought that was a clever use of James' voice, as an recurring part of the verses instead of being scratched in for the chorus.

    Also Ice Cube feat. Yo-Yo "It's A Man's World".

    "Bring It Up" for "Manifest".

Doesn't "Manifest" sample the music from "Bring It Up", but not his vocal?
"Gather Round" by Diamond D uses the vocal.

Yeah, the beat is the music sample, but at the beginning Premier cuts up JB's "gather round!" something nasty.
