I was trying to pronounce
"we produce" to make it sound like "enterprise"

ok we can solve this. stax started out as satellite. there was volt, obviously. gospel truth, hip and respect as previously mentioned. there was also Partee, which richard pryor's record was on. then they got bought by Fantasy, which isn't a subsidiary, technically.

i thought that at first, but to my knowledge (limited knowledge) of Stax, there was no Party subsidiary.
Don't tell me the answer is Hip/H.I.P. cause that would be cheesy.
So I don't think it's Stax-related. I was looking at the Goldwax angle and I think they had a subsidiary called XL which seemed like a tantalizing clue that lead me nowhere. So yeah, I give up. Can't wait to find out what it is.

And the only way I can think of to pronounce the letters MOC is Mock
