  • Man, this thread reminded me of this clip that I saw a few years ago...

  • I used to have a "Raw" live at the Apollo on VHS that was bonkers. I've Youtubed it but I can't find it. BDK is my favorite pre-weed MC. When I hear his tracks I still bug out. Dude is redaculious. I would pay 100.00 + just to see him rock whatevers. I have not read this whole thread but I pray that young and old alike are giving it up for him.

is it that time of year again already?

  • Kane's a fine choice, but 2Pac is the GOAT.

it got to the point with pac where i couldnt tell if he was the missing member of jodeci.

sure he was charismatic, but pac really was not lyrical.... at all. had no battle rhymes.
pac doesnt even rank on my top 10 list.

  • kool keith> monch

id also consider L.L. up there as well.

    had no battle rhymes.

    First off, F*ck your bitch
    And the click you claim
    West side when we ride
    Come equipped with game
You claim to be a player
    But I fucked your wife
    We bust on Bad Boys
    niggas F*ck for Life
Plus Puffy tryin' to see me weak
    Hearts I rip
    Biggie Smalls and Junior Mafia
    Some mark ass bitches
    We keep on coming
While we running for your jewels
    Steady gunning
Keep on busting at them fools
    You know the rules
Little Ceasar go ask you homie
    How I'll leave you
    Cut your young ass up
    See you in pieces
    Now be deceased
    Little Kim,
    Don't F*ck around with real G's
Quick to snatch your ugly ass, off the streets
    So F*ck peace
    I'll let them niggas know
    It's on for Life
    Don't let the west side
    Ride the night (ha ha)
Bad Boys murdered on Wax and kill
    F*ck with me
    And get your caps peeled
    You know, see
    [/b]

not sure if your serious here or not.

after your posting of big l, i find it odd you reach for this.
where exactly are the stunning quotables ? if these are what you/people consider to be pacs great battle rhymes...those suck.

"cut your ass up leave you in peices"= yawn
"Quick to snatch your ugly ass, off the streets"= thats all you could come up with ? that and some gun talk ?
in the context of battle rhymes.....cmon now.
his shit is all rah rah.
nothing clever, or witty, or lyrical here.

lets not forget all of this bravado pac put on led him to his untimely passing.
dude was not in a gang.

    jay went harder at nas.
lets face it, pac is what he is...and thats not a witty lyrical mc's mc.

"and a picture of your sister mister, see me as pee wee herman...i aint trying to diss her"
im checking for shit like that...and thats not even from a battle track.

mc's need to stop referencing biggie and pac in the same sentence.

back to BDK pleeeeease. this thread got derailed.

im not a Pac fan. And he may not give u those traditional Battle Rhymes but when dude was heated it showed.

But yeah - it terms of creative wordplay - he falls short.

i see...i didnt peep the friday the 13th reference til now.

no doubt, pac most def. holds down a major place in hip hops lexicon, just not g.o.a.t.

i do like his verse on digital undergrounds, same song....and always liked if my homies call.
i hated when he got all super thug....right after his role in juice.

kane on the other hand...i think he tried to usher in the whole puffy/bad boy player, ballin, super smooth type vibe, a few years to early.
he had that whole shit going...timing is everything.

when raw 1st came out...whoa... nothing sounded like it.
who would yall liken kane to in the soul/funk world... ?

Kane had it goin up until Taste Of Chocolate. He swung too hard towards the ladies w/ his image and had dudes hattin/snappin'.

Thoughout it all he could always MC.

The Friday reference is Harvey comin out of water on yo' ass once he reads this.
