    Kane/Rakim/LL/Melle Mel/Kool Keith/Caz/KRSONE/.....

    Saw him in BK last summer. Stopped for a sec to apologize that he just did 4 fast songs in a row and had to slow it down on account of him being a 36 year old geezer. WTF?!!! The show was "dope" w/ appearances by Daddy-O and Dana Dane. Rakim GOAT rapper, Kane GOAT Hip Hop recording artist. Marley Marl is God. In that order.

    Where would Kool G. Rap rank? He's got tons of classics too and I would say he was just as influential, if not more so.

    Kool G Rap is right there w/ them. Kane has a higher profile than Kool G. Plus Kane had woman behind him.
    Kool G's gangsta shit- "I usually rhyme Hardcore...." helped provide another point of reference for many cats. He KILLS Kane on the original Raw tape.

    pretty much all of big l's battle rhymes are untouchable.he took the finesse style and refined it even more.

    that kane footage is still . makes you wonder how many people from this generation of rappers are going to be that sharp at kane's age.

You hate too much b/w faux-step to people w/ hate too much. That's not cool. Platter hatter. He don't need Roger Troutman or Zapp, FauxShaux

    Big Daddy Kane is one of my favorites for sure. What a killer MC / Production combo. Timeless dope. A++++++++++++++++++ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

    And where would you get the idea that I wouldn't acknowledge Kool Keith's significance?

    He made a significant contribution to one of the greatest rap albums of its era--satisfied?

    But that still doesn't mean that anyone can justifiably introduce him into a discussion of the greatest MCs of all time. And as far as I'm concerned he has tarnished his legacy with all that post-Ultra bullschitt.

    Among other things, 2Pac upped the ante on rap as a religious experience.

    I don't know of too many walking around considering Kane as practically divine inspiration in any sort of similar way.
