Jodeci "Diary of a Mad Band"

this record is dope. i hated on it when it came out cause i liked their first albums sound a lot more. over the years though... anyway, this is a classic. i recommend those that have this laying in a box collecting dust to take it out and enjoy. my boy charles was right all these years about this record...

I'll make sure to edit my post in a way that refects your personal taste...

  • Reign in Blood isn't even the best Slayer album!

    South of Heaven, right?

I've been tempted to pick up their new one since I heard Lombardo is back.

Im curious, what is the best one?..I consider myself a Real Head when it comes to top shelf heavy metal, seeing how I have been a metal fan since the early 80s...I want to hear what it is and why...please let us know.

The new one is kind of a return to form, but there are still the gross nu-metalisms scattered throughout. But any Slayer album is going to be anti-climatic after Reign in Blood, only THE BEST FUCKING METAL ALBUM OF ALL FUCKING TIME AND THE ALBUM THAT ALL OTHER METAL SINCE THEN HAS TO MEASURE ITSELF AGAINST.

  • enter the wu-tang
    harvest
    abbey road
    sticky fingers
    liquid swords
    low end theory
    the chronic
    hot buttered soul
    stunts blunts and hip-hop
    everybody knows this is nowhere

spice 1- amerikkas nightmare should probably make my list, its my 'most listened to in my life' album along with enter the wu and the chronic

I just missed "Reign in Blood". 88/89 was my metal heydey, and SoH falls right in there w/ And Justice for All, Among the Living, How Will I Laugh and the first Danzig.

I can definitely understand why "Reign" is regarded as the definitive statement.

I am curious to hear which one hammertime was talkin' bout.

    white album

maybe because it's just a decent collection of solo efforts strung together. while there are a couple of good john tracks and two of george's best, the overall ALBUM is not even in their own top 5--let alone, all records EVAR.

Truth, I skip past a lot of songs when I listen to the white album. Not the best beatles album, but Long Long Long is one of my favorite beatles songs.

yeah I'd put South of Heaven at the top. I still think Reign in Blood is an incredible album, but I don't think it's aged as well as SoH or even Seasons in the Abyss really. It's like Kill 'em All vs. Master of Puppets, the balls-to-the-wall non-stop speed is cool and was pretty mind-blowing at the time, but if I could only live with one it would be the more mature, well-rounded later album.
