had some killer 45s waiting in my mailbox when I got home from Colorado:

anyone wanna bring some to this? It's sounds like a completely different take than the version on the Complete Invictus Recordings CD...where was that track taken from? Or is this a different DJ mix?

    and these were $1 each:

I recently saw the Meiko Kaji girlgang film STRAY CAT ROCK: SEX HUNTER and was blown away by the club scenes featuring the white & asian girl group THE GOLDEN HALF who sang two perky but explicit and breathy tunes. Luckily they were named in the opening credits so I knew whose records to look for, even if the chance of finding them was extremely slim.

But as luck would have it, a few weeks ago I saw a Golden Half 45 on eBay, and I won it for $10 with no competing bids. Whether it featured the songs in the film wasn't a must for me, but would have been a plus. Well the 45 arrived this past Friday. AND IT HAS BOTH SONGS FROM THE MOVIE.

Side 1: Kiiroi Sakuranbo (Yellow Cherry)

    Side 2: Koibitoga Hoshino

If you're not convinced, check out their 2-second appearance in the movie trailer for full impact:

Since Funkadelic made it a regular practice to record versions of songs specifically for the radio, I wouldn't be surprised if Clinton did the same in a Parliament context. Keep it pop for the radio, but get more wild on the album.

but it was never on an album! so i guess i'm wondering if there are 2 different versions of the 45, or if the version on the CD was some unreleased take/mix.

Not digging on the weekend? They must be losers.

I got Boosie's "Supafly" 12" but I still badly need a copy of "Rachet." Preferably for ten cents.

How's that record in the top left corner?
I distinctly remember passing it up years ago, only to never see it again.

Buncha cheapies, all of these were $2 or less:

A few real terds (Rock Flowers, anyone? Records released to promote
a line of girl's dolls??) but some $1 heat, like the Mariano record, which
is baroque pop instrumentals with harpsichord and snappy drums -
and all the salsa shit, I seemed to find salsa everywhere I went this
week ... the Pacheco & el Conde album is tha bomb!!

Alot of the cheap stuff came from a store 1/2 hour out of Boston that
I had never hit - Bearded D actually recommended I go out
there, so I made the trip. Not too many exciting albums, definitely the
"dig through 10,000 albums to buy 5" frustration, but this 45 was 50 cents
for a stock copy and is a dope garage classic worth 50 times that:

The Fleetwood Mac & Underground Sunshine below were also from that spot,
for $2 each - the others are a couple cheap eBay joints and local store digs:

I didn't want to mess up the weekday finds "peruvian report" with this stuff. But anyways, here what I satisfied my schizophrenic vinyl addiction with last weekend. Some of the 45s were from a jukebox stash, some from a private collection I raided & a couple came in the mail. The LPs were freebies from my girl except for the Bobby Womack & Righteous Bros. Took a chance on a couple interesting looking 45s & wasn't disappointed either, which was cool.
