One of my favorite quotes from him: when asked towards the end of his career what had happened to all of his money his response was "well, I've spent a lot of money on birds(women) booze & fast cars and the rest I just squandered"

    why? well,I originally had a photo of him on my Stonesthrow account and at the time just thought it would be easier to carry both my photo and name over to this board, but shit it's been a few years now, maybe it's time for a change...

    My avatar was inspired by Fatback's--um, I mean DenmarkVZ's--posting of a bag of pork rinds. That's where my current location came from, too (it said that on the bag). The pic was kinda crappy, so I used a different bag.

    mine is DJ Neal Kay. Probably the first heavy metal DJ. In the late 70s and early 80s he had what was called a "heavy metal disco" in London. His biggest claim to fame was discovering Iron Maiden and playing their demos and helping them get a deal. It is interesting to see old Maiden flyers with the opening act as "DJ Neal Kay"....non hip hop,soul,disco, and reggae DJing in the 70s has a real history y'all.

    In fact me and shingaling are paying tribute to him and hard rock and metal tonight!
