Big co-signal. I've been "rocking", as the kids say, that for years.

There's a live version that's worth checking out too.

Not 5 songs this time around, but one song snippet that I've been listening to over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...well, you get the point.

Kanye West - Brand New (snippet)

The best minute and 23 seconds I've heard in a while. Beat is ill, hook is simple & catchy and the lyrics are truthful and in-your-face.

"...and still the muhfucker you love to hate, but can't because you love what I make/ now ain't that about a bitch?"

This fool gets on my goddamn nerves, but fuck if he ain't right on point.

You're correct. There's the studio version credited to Dave Mason/Jim Capaldi but due to contract conflicts or something like that the live one is credited to Steve Winwood, Traffic and company

Judy Clay-you busted my mind (thanks shing)

Scorpions-Steamrock Fever(cant get enough Uli Roth-era Scorpions at the moment, along with Judas priest, these guys really set the next precedent after Sabbath, no one else was playing with those guitar tones and writing riffs like that in the 70s)

Boredoms-Seadrum (they do it again, man this track is the pinnicle of multi drummer Japanese psych goodness)

Sparks-Everybody's Stupid (man, I love Sparks, great sense of humor and just damn good songwriting on top of that)

Lil Willie and the Rockin Imperials-Crazy Stomp (got a really nice copy of this recently, but that doesnt matter really, the only other copy I have seen looked like it was thrown down the street and two dogs fought over it and it sounded mint...why couldnt every soul 45 been pressed where this one was?)

So is this a cut from Kanye's next album or a Rhymfest cut feat. Kanye for his album? Good, Def Jam, J, Ronson's label...

FWIW I think the Rhymefest verses on "brand new" are as good if not better than Kanye's 16....sorry though, don't have the full mp3 at this time.

Gavin Bryars "Jesus Blood Never Failed me Yet" - made a post about this alreayd but this ain't no feeling it for the moment type track...this one goes in the all-time favorite area.

Curtis Mayfield "Keep On Pushing" if this doesn't make you feel good you aren't listening right.

Gillian Welch "Make Me A Pallet On Your Floor" - strange that the best country singer out today resides in West Hollywood

Eddie Holman " I Love You" - wonderful track with great strings and a voice filled with so much emotion that you may yell out "I Love you" in sympathy

Kevin Moore "Rainmaker" - you know I couldn't do this without including one soulful joint from 1980. Keb mo's 1st LP sounds like something terry Callier or Bill Withers might have done 8 years prior

Oh! Is it one of the instrumental tracks? For some reason I don't remember the title at all, and it's been a while since I listened to the album all the way through.
