well, heres what i started today. i'm basically obsessed with that Symphonic Four 45...so i chopped all the instrumental bits i could find on part 2 8th by 8th, chopped some drums and shaker over it, and voila...the beginning foundations of an upcoming beat. lemme know what you think so far...http://www.boomspeed.com/fannywagon/damne2.mp3and post up some new shit.

    Damn, HOH, you're a man of few words. You might want to be more specific if your criticism is to be considered constructive.

    Delay, I like this. Got a nice Lonnie Liston Smith vibe going there. Could have been nice with a chord change in the keys somewhere, but I can hear from the original at the end (what is it anyway?), that there are no other snatchable parts after the intro. Might want to put some subtle delay or something on the stuttering hihats to make them gel more with the beat. Is that a live sax or all samples?

    Ako, I wish I could be as consistent as you. Heavy as usual.

    everything's a sample. this track was a lot of work. I can see why it may not be some people's thing. that's cool. i don't really care. i definitely didnt post it for critique.

    Nothing against the usual beat-in-progess stuff that usually gets posted up in these threads, but it's nice to hear a complex finished piece. You can tell you put a lot of work into it. This is gonna stick around on my hard drive for sure...

    Mellow and hard at the same time. Really nice and creative. Like it a lot.

    This is fitting nicely into my mid saturday. Just smoked a bowl and it's providing a nice soundtrack to my tea and honey. My only beef was the random claps that were in, and then out during the drum breakdown. I wanted them to stick around longer. But I'm a clap whore.
