I know all the shit like LOL,BTW,etc..but what is SMH?what is NSFW(just saw it posted in a Grafwritah thread)?what is OWNED and PWNED or some shit...it seems I see variations of this one? I see this shit constantly on stupid message boards and My Space. What the hell is that? thanks, I will sleep better tonight knowing what all of this means.

    As for 'owned/pwned' - according to one basketball (Real GM) site I visit, the claims there are that it started in the gaming community, as in someone besting someone else in a game and 'owning' him/her outright, 'pwned' being a misspelling/typo of that although it could conceivably also mean 'pawned' I guess...

    My friends instead of "getting owned" would compromise each other's computers by "bearding" them. If you are in the loop, you're in the loop. I'm not explaining it, but it was hilarious. They'd also "Ice" each other's computer by making their screensaver turn into a sexy pic of Vanilla Ice. Good times.

    a LONG LONG time ago (like, 1999) i recieved an email that said "I own you lamer", and instead of all the letters popping up on the screen at the same time, they appeared one by one. then my computer shut off.


    worked fine after that, so i dont know what that was all about...haha
