I dunno I like it. Yes probably definately some MadLib influence, but the style is a lot smoother than Madlib...

i think it's some madlib inspired iconoclast bullshit,

but to each his own, right?

What is this Jay Dee inspired by Madlib bullshit?

I don't get what that is all about.

Anyway, plaese to explain so I can strike it through.

    Thanks.

I'm not a hatter, I like this instru LP but I don't think that's the best shit Dilla has made.

I honestly don't think this is intended at an "LP". We all know that Dilla can do a full album, that BBE record was way more involved as far as album content goes. MCs, the remake of "Think Twice", that's an album.

This is just a release lots of beats, some better than others, but it's hard to deny the creative intensity that they possess. And on the real, if dude is sick and needs some income, I can see putting Donuts out as a way to supplement for hospital bills.

    (not directed at you, bapt)

BTW, can we got a STOP DISRISPECFELHATT[/b]IN' gramelin?

  • When I first heard this album I thought to myself that it was pretty good and that was all. But I keep finding myself listening to it...

Eyh! I think I've found something for you.

    Wait a minute...

    Is this out?

I'm seem to be the only dude on the net that hasn't heard this.

I don't think if Dilla needed some extra money he would solve his problem by putting out an instrumental album on Stones Throw. He could probably make more money selling a couple beats to high profile rappers.

The typos in that BBE interview are horrendous.

I still am waiting for the magical concept record, a hip-hop-Norte??o affair:

    plus

  • i really dont understand how anyone can say this album is any good.. maybe you guys are just fans from the slum village days...but how can this "album" even compare to fantastic vol 2?

how can this "album" even compare to fantastic vol 2?

    Who said that?

  • it was a rhetorical question...

    ..it cant, and it doesnt.

  • 33thirdcom33thirdcom 2,049 Posts
exactly no one said it compared. I am listening to it on its own merits...

it also doesn't compare to his "Fuck The Police"

    or his Pharcyde Remixes etc.

on its own, in my opinion its a good listen through and through.
