Has there ever been an SS thread on venting about Bill's??? Gawd I hated that place but you had to go there. I guess Bill's still there, ogling young men and rasping out prices that are $3-$5 too high.
Too bad Collectors closed down. RPM was my shit when I lived in Dallas.

The two latest albums I love that I woulda never heard cept for SS is that McNeal and Niles "Thrust" which is never far from the cd player any more, and this "Fever Tree" album I picked up after seeing them mentioned a lot. Great stuff.

Technically, in my mind it should be stores that advertise that they sell vinyl (record stores proper, records &books, etc), or places that are well known in a city to have a boatload of vinyl. I would like to compile a list for the US (and abroad) of shops that are:
A) Open and operational B) Have vinyl C) Are used vinyl stores[/b] or og backstock places

They've got tons of records but the place is always empty...NEVER see anybody buying a record.Not to mention all the sleeves are taped shut so you can't inspect the vinyl. Lotsa Latin too,but all taped...what is up with this place? Does anyone here frequent the Funk-o Mart??

The other "record stores" that I've been to out here has even been A). closed (out of business) or B). a store that doesn't even carry vinyl. As a matter of fact, you're better off hitting up a antique mall to get some decent records.
What's worse is I saw either (enter Soulstrutter name here) or (enter Soulstrutter name here) way out in the field in F*cknut, (enter state here) buying those "$300" modern soul "$50" funk 45s from thrift stores.

Yeah, but they're usually buying CCR and Journey records. The place is cheap...$1-3 records.
