Warm water is fine, but loose the soap.
Soap can leave shit in the grooves.

Is hot water and soap really that bad for your records?

Too hot water is bad and soap leaves residue, just like old ex-girlfriend/wife.

My recipe:

- 1/4 isopropyl (spell zcheck?) alcohol

- 3/4 distilled water

But that's cause down here there are no record cleaning solutions available for the masses. I understand you can get a proper cleaning liquid in the First World for relative cheap prices.
