What's that one on the left/middle??

  • parsecparsec 5,087 Posts
Yup, top left corner is Bobby Naughton Units "understanding". The track "nital rock" is off the chain.

Middle row lp is called The Sacred Dances of the Wahshi Dervishes "epitath for an ego". Awall had soundclips up of it like last week but I can't find that thread.

The record below that- I'm sworn to secrecy.

To the right of that- Teem soda pop sign from the sixties.

Above that is Daniel Hecht, if you dig Fahey/Basho you will dig this.

  • took a lil road trip that turned these up at a bookstore of all places...

and finally THE billy ocean LP popped up after being on my want list for years. hadnt seen this till now and well worth the 99 cents paid :-D

Usually don't have anything to contribute mid-week wise,
but today recived a box of approx. 150 45s in the mail -
mostly soul, some r'n'b and odd rock stuff, mostly unplayed,
    with the best one being:

oh sh*t! What do you want for that?

that one I'm keeping - gonna sell most
of the northern stuff to cover what I paid for the lot.

yeah, can't blame you, hommie. What a great 45!

what label's the Curtis Fuller on Rich? I've never seen that one by him before.

i need to stop logging on to this site. i'm so close to being finished with a month's worth of work that I may be starting to get monkey demons in my head or as scott might call them "monkey nuggets."

    peace.

    Ari,

It's on Warwick....probably from around '58-'61...first time I've seen it as well.

If the Monkey Demon gets you down just listen to Del Jones and he'll help you "Get the monkey off".

    Rich

thanks for the advice. i just might take you up on that. I only have the Loopden edition however.

i always liked Curtis Fuller's playing- it'd be cool to check out that early one, he was a real free spirit and visionary on the trombone, i'm sure back then as well.

It's a great record, got a copy on CD from a friend a while back, I had never heard of it either.

    hahahaha.

when the going gets tough, no heterosexual man should hold pole in such fashion.
he's got a license to chill on that right there.

Got a copy of this out of a box of "unwanted" LP's being thrown out by a record shop:

I had actually been looking for this, so finding it in the trash for free was pretty cool. Same box had a copy of Howard Roberts, GUILTY!! that turned out to be much better than I expected, thanks mostly to Dave Grusin's work on keys. Total spent: $0.00

  • Earlier this week I found Broken Glass - Style of the Street 12"

But i've been sick so I had to get the records to come to my door:) I got

-Odyssey 5 "First Time Around" (Brunswick) $2 off ebay. And finally arrived after 3 months. Good and consistant LP.
-Terry Callier "Occasional Rain" I got this for free because the seller messed up with poor discriptions of the records.
